Yvonne Thelma Bernal, a long-time resident of the Spokane area, died Monday the 15th of May at Hospice House of Spokane - North. - Born in 1934 in Bemidji, MN, to Theodore Peterson and Agnes Annonson, the youngest of four girls. She enjoyed growing up in Bemidji and later moved to Minneapolis where she met her future husband, Rafael Ray Bernal. Yvonne and Ray were married at the First Lutheran Church in Kennewick on November 6, 1954. Later, they moved to Spokane, WA where Yvonne worked as a medical secretary and raised three children. In 1974, she moved with her family to the Spokane Valley where she lived for 43 years. - Yvonne loved so many things: bowling and lunching with the ladies, birds, camping, flowers, gardening, sewing and crafts. She will be remembered for being a wonderful cook, wife and mother. Her ability to tackle anything and make it look easy was also inspiring. She will be missed. - She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ray Bernal, her daughter, Kristin Tomlinson (Kirk), sons Timothy and Curtis, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and her crazy dog, Max. - A small, private memorial was requested. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her along the way, especially during her last month (Psalm 23). - In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Spokane (P.O.
