William "Bill" Bacon, 83, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on July 22, 2024. He was born on February 25, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas. Bill moved to Spokane in his early years, attended Stevens Primary School, and graduated from North Central High School.
Bill dedicated his life to the concrete industry, where he was a hard worker and an honest businessman. He founded Bacon Concrete, specializing in pouring sidewalks, curbing, and driveways throughout Spokane. His commitment to quality and service left a lasting impact on the city's infrastructure
Beyond his professional life, Bill was a man of many interests. While he often joked that work was his hobby, he also found joy in golf, traveling across the United States, especially to the ocean, and spending quality time with his family. Priest Lake was a favorite boating retreat where he enjoyed family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; his sisters, Barbara Farrell (Fred), Alice Kerr (Frank), and Creta Kunz (Don); his children, Kelly Bacon-Hord (Kris), Greg Bacon (Shelly), Robert Bacon (Rosey), and Jodi Axtell (Brad); along with 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill's legacy of dedication, both in his professional and personal life, will be fondly remembered by those who knew him. His family and friends will miss his readiness to lend a hand and his unwavering support.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm August 1, 2024, Sunset Chapel in Fairmont Memorial Park 5200 W Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
