Sherrie Irene Jarrett

April 21, 1951 - July 29, 2015

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother & sister, Sherrie Irene Jarrett, aged 64 years, left behind her battle with colon cancer to join her Savior. She is preceded in death by her father, Swede Gay; her daughter Laurie Hepburn-Atchison; her brothers Donald Gay/Harry, David Jr. and Loren Kerr; and her sisters Lorraine Braman, Lilia Parsons Wheeler, and Patricia Joy Brown. She is survived by her husband Jerry Jarrett; her mother Myra Gay; her daughter Dawn Ellen Hepburn; her stepson Jeremy Jarrett; her sister Janet Michelson; and her brother Gerald Gay. Sherrie was a proud grandmother of her granddaughter Kiani Lynn Hepburn, and grandson Kyle David Hepburn. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sherrie’s life was characterized by a profound love of animals, adopting any and all strays that crossed her path. She is fondly remembered for her concern for her “kitty family” even in the last days of her illness. Additionally, she was a woman of great compassion for those in need, and those less fortunate than herself. Despite times of impoverishment in her own life, she always found a way to give of herself and the little she had, to bless the lives of others. She touched many lives and she will be dearly missed. Her family wishes to thank the kindness and compassion shown to Sherrie and her family and friends in her weeks at Hospice House. You are truly angels of mercy. God bless you for your servants’ hearts. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held on Saturday, August 15th, 2015 at 2 pm, at Moran United Methodist Church, 3601 E. 65th Ave., Spokane, WA. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospiceofspokane.org.
