Beloved dad, grandpa, and friend, Rohan Douglas Phillips passed away peacefully in Elk, WA, surrounded by his family on September 5th, 2024. Rohan was born on April 19, 1970 in Portland, Victoria, Australia. He married the love of his life, Debra (Debbie) Lynn Phillips, on April 11, 1992. Together, the couple had two daughters, Alana and Monique, and raised them together until Debbie’s life was tragically cut short on June 9, 1999. In 2003, Rohan, Alana and Monique moved to the United States. Danielle Gould joined the family in 2014 and became one of Rohan’s treasured daughters.
As he sometimes said, he knew a little about a lot. He was a man of many talents, always giving his best effort no matter what. He was successful in any job he took on, beginning with an Apprentice of the Year award with Australian Airlines, up until his most recent job at Belcan where he was a valued, respected, and cared for employee. He loved water sports and spending time at the lake. Other passions included biking, listening to live music, catching the sunset, deep conversations, and spending time with those dearest to him.
Rohan leaves behind an incredible legacy of grit, integrity, and most of all, love. Although he faced more than his fair share of trials, he always strived to live by his deeply held values. His light will continue to shine through the generations to come, thanks to his valiant effort to forge a path to healing and wholeness.
He will forever be so deeply missed by surviving daughters, Alana (Tom) Rohret, Monique (Elmer) Bautista, and Danielle Gould; and his best little buddy and grandson, Landon Rohret. He is preceded in death by his darling wife, Debbie, and unborn, never forgotten son Fraser.
A celebration of Rohan’s life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, please honor Rohan's memory by soaking up the sun, spending time near the water, or cherishing your loved ones.
“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains.”
