Richard L Haegele

November 06, 1940 - March 02, 2015

HAEGELE, Richard L. (age 74) - Richard (aka Rich, Rick or Dick to many) was born on November 6, 1940 in Spokane, WA and went home to see our Heavenly Father on March 2, 2015 after a nearly 2 year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carol; mother-in-law, June Sheldon of Spokane Valley, WA; his son & daughter-in-law, Glenn and Jennifer Haegele of Spanaway, WA; his daughter and fiancé, Kelly Wallace and Brett Gilfilen, of Spokane Valley, WA; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirl & Eleanor Haegele; and his sister, Shirley Haegele, of Spokane, WA. Dick was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and great grandfather and touched many lives. He was in the grocery business for most of his adult life after proudly volunteering and serving in the US Air Force during the Vietnam conflict, but his final passion was driving school bus for West Valley School District. He enjoyed all of his interactions with the children and the bonds that were created with the transportation department. The family will be forever grateful for the kindness and compassion shown by the employees of the West Valley Transportation Department. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7th, at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Fourth Church, 2303 S Bowdish Rd, Spokane Valley, WA. Community Cremation & Funeral Spokane Valley - 13127 E.
