James Monte Heuett, 73, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021. Monte was born in Pasco, WA to Marvin and Evelyne Heuett. He moved to Spokane from Kennewick, WA in 1959 and graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1965. After serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War, he battled many years with heart and lung issues from Agent Orange exposure. Following his military service, he spent most of his civilian years as a professional carpet installer. Monte was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching on television or in-person, football, baseball, basketball, and hockey. He was a great bowler and bowled 20 years for the Maxwell House Tavern. Monte loved to travel and he and his wife Mare spent the last few winters in Arizona. He loved dogs and will be missed greatly by his faithful watchdog Buster. Monte is survived by his wife Mare, two children Shannon Evans and Shawn Wagner and Jeff and Loni Heuett, stepsons Vincent Swaney and Daniel Nedinsky, grandkids Alex D Wagner and Londyn, Vincent, and Victoria Swaney, siblings Terry and Marilyn Heuett, Ron Heuett, Jerry and Nancy Heuett, Janice and John Spring and many loving nieces and nephews. He was proceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Evelyne Heuett and sister-in-law Pam Heuett. Do to COVID restrictions, a memorial in his honor will be at a later date.
