Lynette Marie Hamilton, beloved sister, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at Deaconess Hospital on October 13, 2024, at the age of 73.
She was born to the late Gus “Eddie” and Edith Quist on January 8th, 1951, in Spokane, WA. Lynette graduated from Ferris High School, and after working in the mortgage banking industry for many years, she decided to pursue her degree. She attended Gonzaga University, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting. After graduation, she became a Financial Specialist with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
She married her junior high school sweetheart, the late William Hamilton in 1970. They went on to have two children, Mandy and Jeremy. While the children were small (and until they were teens and too cool…), they frequently went skiing, enjoyed stock car races and took many family road trips.
After her retirement from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Lynette liked to spend her time reading, cooking for her family, proofreading novels for her favorite authors, quilting with her sister-in-law, spoiling her four granddaughters, and spending time with her dog, Scout. She was also a hockey fan and would go to several Spokane Chiefs games every season.
She is predeceased by her father Gus Quist, her brother Ed Quist, her mother Edith Quist, her husband William Hamilton and her son Jeremy Hamilton. She is survived by her brother Alan Quist (Mary), her daughter Mandy Pereyda (Scott), nephews Joel Quist and Eric Quist, nieces Alana Quist (Sarah), Alyssa DuBois (Dakota), Chelsea Burns, Alexa Wilson (Jeff), granddaughters Erica Hamilton, Abigail “Ray” Pereyda, Shelby Pereyda and Felicia Hamilton, sister-in-law Vicki McFadden, sister-in-law Lori Quist, and daughter-in-law Jennifer Hamilton.
Services will be held at Fairmont Memorial Pak at 5200 W. Wellsley Ave on January 25th at 12:00pm. A celebration of life will be held afterwards at Sean Odonnell’s American Grill and Irish Pub at 719 N. Monroe St.
