December 31, 1962 - March 20, 2023
Karene Lynn Wolf came into this world in celebration, as she was born in Spokane, WA, on New Year's Eve December 31st, 1962. She was the youngest to Daniel and Patrica Waldby. She grew up in the greater Spokane area and graduated from University High School in 1981. Karene married David Wolf in Spokane, WA, on July 23, 1983, and from this union, two children were born, Brandon and Kevin. The family spent many summers camping and traveling around the Pacific Northwest. In the early 2000s, the family moved to Ghana, Africa for a year as Dave had accepted an employment opportunity. Dave & Karene later separated. Karene fell in love with native African baskets, memorabilia, and culture. After returning to Spokane, she began selling baskets at various Garden and Expo shows. Karene also enjoyed a lifelong career in the service industry at several upscale restaurants. Karene lived a vibrant and social life. She loved spending time with family and friends, playing with her granddaughter, enjoying sunny weather, and being surrounded by all things beautiful. Her fun-loving soul was contagious, causing all near to smile. Karene never remarried, though spent many happy years with her life partner, Kenneth Pazer. On the first day of spring, Monday, March 20th, 2023, at the young heart-felt age of sixty, Karene passed away with loved ones by her side. Karene is survived by her sister, Renae (Todd Bobbett) of Richland, WA; her two children, Brandon (Brittnie), and Kevin (Heather); and her two grandchildren, Carmen & Dennis, and Kenneth Pazer. Karene is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel J. Waldby; and Patricia G. Jenkins. Karene's life was colorful, filled with love and laughter, while she created ever-lasting memories with all. Though Karene is no longer with us, she will be missed dearly and held in our hearts forever as she transcends into the heavens. A private family service will be held at a location yet to be determined.
