Justin Frazier MORENCY “Doc”

Justin passed away at his father's home July 18th where he had lived with Victor Frazier and step-mom Diana since June 1, 2023.  He leaves behind devastated family, friends, coworkers at Planet Fitness, and a community that grew to love and appreciate him in Northwest Spokane. He was well known for his gregarious nature, engaging personality, and great sense of humor.  He is survived by his mother Terri Sutton (Mark), Father Victor Frazier (Diana), brother Deric Frazier, and sister Lisa (Andrew) Van Wormer.  His two children Connor and Alexis reside in Pittsburgh with his ex-wife Molly Kier (Jarrett).

Justin enlisted in the Army in January 2004 and after much training ended up as a Medic with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  He jumped out of perfectly good airplanes for a living.  His first combat deployment was to Afghanistan from March 2005-March 2006, followed by two tours in Iraq 06-07, and 08-09.  His comrades called him "Doc" and he was a “Wounded Healer” always looking to relieve others of their pain, or at least make them laugh. . . After Fort Bragg he moved to Fort Irwin, California where he was training cadre and he had his son Connor before separating from the army in 2013 from a back injury.  He lived in Pittsburg, PA close to his wife's family for a year before moving them to Spokane to be close to his father's side of the family, brother and sister.  In 2015 he went through a separation and divorce. He struggled with drug addiction till an arrest in Idaho broke his habit last April 2023.  He felt jail was the best thing that happened to him allowing him to detox and clear his head.  He released to a loving and supportive family and was growing and changing into a strong good man that made people laugh, smile, and think about their lives.  He was clean and sober for over a year had a job at Planet Fitness and many believed the disease of addiction was behind him.  There will be a memorial in Eaton Rapids, Michigan August 3rd, and his burial with full military honors will take place at the Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake on August 16th.  Please contact the family for local memorials and remembrance gatherings.
