Judy Lynn Young, aged 82, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, in Spokane, Washington.
Born on March 10, 1942, in Emmet Idaho, Judy devoted her life to nurturing and caring for others, both through her professional career and within her family.
For over 30 years, Judy operated a beloved in-home daycare, where she touched the lives of many children and families with her kindness and dedication. Her work was not just a job but a calling, as she poured her love and energy into every child who came through her door.
Judy's personality was a blend of warmth and wit. She was known for her infectious sense of humor and her ability to make anyone feel welcome and loved. Her selflessness was evident in every aspect of her life, particularly in her role as a mother and grandmother.
Judy was a great bowler and sports fan. Gonzaga Bulldogs was her favorite. She enjoyed playing BUNCO with her girlfriends each month and was always up for an adventure.
She loved to entertain, read, and go to the movies. However, her greatest joy was supporting her children and grandchildren in their many sports and various activities.
She was the cherished matriarch of a loving family, survived by her four children. Daughter, Jennifer Richardson (Guy), and her 3 sons, Doug Payton (Deanna), David Payton (Jill), and Dan Payton, as well as her beloved brother Roger Sanders, whom she looked up to so much.
Judy's legacy also includes 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren,
with a 19th on the way and numerous nieces
, nephews, and countless friends, all of which will all miss her deeply
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Darcy Jil Payton, parents, Keith and Phoebe Sanders, her sisters, Carole Richmond and Sharon Bain, and her husband, Dennis Young.
In accordance with her wishes, Judy's life will be honored in a private, family-only graveside service.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date to commemorate her remarkable journey.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, in recognition of their compassionate care.
Judy's spirit of generosity and loving care will continue to inspire all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends forever...
