Jeffrey Paul (Vandenberg) Simmons

June 15, 1971 — September 24, 2024


It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Paul (Vandenberg) Simmons, who left this world on September 24, 2024, in Spokane, Washington. Born in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, on June 15, 1971, Jeffrey's journey through life touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

 

Jeffrey was the beloved and cherished son of  Linda (Grow) and Ron Simmons. His early years were spent in Spokane, where he graduated as part of the Class of 1990 from North Central High School. 

 

Throughout his life, Jeffrey was known for his unwavering dedication and hard work. He began working at the tender age of 16 and continued to do so throughout his life. He wore many hats in his career, from a chef to a school bus driver, and most recently, he spent 19 fulfilling years working in the greenery at Evergreen State College. 

 

Jeffrey was a man of many passions. He found peace and joy in the great outdoors, whether it was fishing, camping, or simply taking in the beauty of nature. He was a die-hard fan of the Seahawks and the Mariners, always ready to cheer on his favorite teams. A devoted Trekkie, he never missed an episode of Star Trek. But above all, Jeffrey's greatest love was for his family. He treasured every moment spent with his children, Jourdan (Vandenberg) Peadon and Nick Imbler, and his two grandchildren, Aidyn Vandenberg and Landyn Peadon. Jeffrey also had a deep appreciation for music, often listening to old country and classic rock tunes.

 

Those who knew Jeffrey will remember his kind and loving nature. He was the type of person who always made sure his loved ones were okay, and his great sense of humor could light up any room. He was a hard worker and was very dedicated to his family.

 

Jeffrey's passing leaves a void that can never be filled. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Betty Grow, Paul and Doris Simmons, Marvin Vandenberg Sr. and Irene Vandenberg, his uncle Marvin Vandenberg, his brother Dan Vandenberg, and his nieces Chelsea and Kelli Vandenberg, as well as his uncle Earl Mills. 

 

He is survived by his children, Jourdan (Vandenberg) Peadon and Nick Imbler his parents Ron and Linda Simmons also Debbie Vandenberg who he viewed as a second mom. his siblings, Jennifer Simmons ,John Simmons, Stacey Vandenberg, Tom Vandenberg; his beloved grandchildren, Aidyn Vandenberg and Landyn Peadon; his aunts Vicki Mills and Lori Grossklaus all of his treasured cousins And his numerous dear nieces and nephews. Jeffrey's family and friends were the center of his world, and he loved them more than anything.

 

A celebration of life will be held in his honor.

 

Jeffrey Paul (Vandenberg) Simmons was more than a son, brother, dad, and grandpa; he was a beacon of love, kindness, and humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
