Janet Roberta Dawley

March 30, 1942 - January 11, 2024

Janet Roberta Dawley March 30, 1942 - January 11, 2024

Dawley (Visger), Janet Roberta

Spokane Valley - On January 11, 2024, our beautiful mother, Janet (Jan), passed away surrounded by her loving family. Jan was born to Harry and Mina Visger in Minneapolis, MN, on March 30, 1942. She married Gary Dawley in March of 1959 and was married for 60 years. They had four children: Carol, Lisa (Glenn), Doug (Teri), and Denise Wheeler (Greg) - Mom was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Being a military wife never bothered her, she was able to make friends and fit in wherever she went. She worked as a waitress at the North Perkin's for many years before she retired. Retirement never slowed her down. She was always on the go. Although she battled numerous health issues, her strong will and perseverance proved she was a fighter. She loved bowling, shopping, and playing bingo but loved her family more.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband Gary, daughter Carol, two great-grandchildren, her parents, and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Ronald McDonald House, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Children's Miracle Network. There will be a private burial on March 21, 2024. To know her was to love her, and as she would always say 'It is what it is.'
