Janet Coon Geiss Ingram

Janet Coon Geiss Ingram born April 22, 1939, to Ingram and Elsie Coon, passed away January 1, 2025, after a long illness.

Janet was born and raised in Spokane, WA. She attended Roosevelt Elementary, Lewis and Clark High School and EWU.

She resided in Spokane most of her adult life, raising her 3 children, and working in human resources at American Sign and Indicator, and in the building permits department of the City of Spokane.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Geiss, Melanie Levno (Gary Bowe), and Ti Geiss; grandchildren Jake Levno, Jessie Bruni (Phil), Kaylee Levno (Nate Bertsch), James Geiss and William Geiss; and great-grandchildren Liam, Graham, Everett and Amira.

She is also survived by her sister Mary Knodell, niece Kristi Knodell (Kristin) and nephew Scott Knodell.

Her parents and her ex-husband, Ted Geiss, preceded her in death.

Janet was much loved and will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held January 31st at 1:00 at the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, followed by a graveside service for family.

The family asks those interested in honoring Janet, a life-long lover of books and big fan of public libraries, to consider donating to the Spokane Public Library.
