September 19, 1940 - August 19, 2018
Gaye Lee (Mitchell) Robinson (Age 77) I am writing my own obituary. I don’t want it said that “I passed”, I died. I wasn’t called “beloved” in my life, why after death? I had numerous and debilitating illnesses, including Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, a progressive and terminal lung disease, but I can’t say I “fought a courageous fight”, I complained, a lot! I was born in Chicago, IL and moved to Spokane in 1945 and have lived in Washington State ever since: all but three years in Spokane. I was preceded in death by my parents, John and Evelyn Mitchell; stepfather, Charles Pyne; brother, Charles Mitchell; sister Laura Anderson and brother Daniel Mitchell. I have two sons; Randall (Tina) Primmer of Longwood, FL, John “Jay” Hemmert Jr. at our home and daughter Janene Johnson of Spanaway, WA, one son-in-law Danny (Cindy) Johnson; two brothers John (Edette), and Steven (Beth) Mitchell, three sisters; Renet Wellbrink, Lynn Strahl and Anita Mitchell; numerous special nieces and nephews; lifetime friends Carolyn, Connie, JoAnn, Yvonne, Pat and the Primmer family, and special friends at INBC, Nancy, Lori and Ellen. I completed Glenrose Grade School, grades 1 through 8, in seven years then, at the age of 16 was in the last graduating class of Lindbergh High School in Valleyford, WA in 1957. Lindbergh then consolidated with Rockford and is now Freeman High School. I worked numerous office and bookkeeping jobs, and after 22 years at the Inland Northwest Blood Center, I retired as the Accounting Supervisor. My hobbies were collecting and reading old books and reading and writing poetry. My favorite poets were Lord Byron and Edgar Allen Poe. I enjoyed music, doing word search, following politics, nurturing house plants and feeding any stray critters that came into my yard. I had 18 different kinds of birds, also squirrels, deer, raccoons and many stray cats. I have a cockatiel inside. I am sorry to leave the ones I love, but by His Grace I will be in the presence of the King of kings and Lord of lords and we will see each other again. I do not want a funeral service. I saw the End of a Rainbow… Donations may be made to the HLA Laboratory at the Inland Northwest Blood Center.
