July 17, 1924 - November 28, 2014
McFAUL, Ted After 90 years filled with faith, family, sports and laughter, Ted went to meet his Savior on November 28, 2014, at his home, surrounded by family. Ted was born in Ione, Washington, on July 17, 1924, to Gerald and Kathryn McFaul. His siblings included brothers Gerald and Joseph, and sister Clancy. Known by all for his strong, quiet presence, Ted left a legacy of dignity and integrity. That legacy was most evident in his 62 year marriage to his beloved Peacha, as together they raised six active children. Ted served in the Navy during WWII and was featured in Time magazine for delivering babies while helping evacuate a Pacific island. Following his service, he enjoyed a 50+ year career with Phillips Petroleum in Spokane, Helena, Great Falls, and San Antonio. A lifelong athlete, Ted was captain of the U. of Idaho football team that defeated Stanford, ranked #5 in the nation at the time. Mr. Versatility, he was also once named regional ping pong champion in Spokane. After more than a decade of competing at Hoopfest, Ted finally retired as the oldest player at age 80. He enjoyed golf with many friends, and finished one last bridge game 48 hours before his passing. Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Peacha, his parents and brothers. He is survived by his sister Clancy Koch, sister-in-law Marge McFaul, brother-in-law Ed Budig, 6 children: Gerry (Diana), Kathy, Brian (Mary Jo), Chris (Renate), Mary Grahn (Matt) and Greg (Loreen); 12 grandchildren; and a great granddaughter.
