
Dennis Loyd Thompson, 80, passed away on January 29, 2025. Dennis was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on June 26, 1944, to Eula Theola (Double) Thompson and Allen Eldor Thompson.
Family members include his brother Bob Thompson, Loran Thompson (passed 7-16-22) and sister Eileen (Thompson) Berscheid and his two children Dan and Bill Thompson and four grandchildren: Avery, Josephine, Spencer, and Marlie. He loved and cherished his wife of 54 years, Mary Elizabeth Corbett Thompson, who passed away November 27, 2022. They were married in Butte, Montana on April 20, 1968.
Dennis worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad from 1962-1965 and again from 1967-1968. He entered the US Army in July of 1965 and served until 1967 in the 172 Infantry Brigade, Ft Richardson Alaska. In July of 1969, Dennis began a 40-year career at Imperial Data Supply and MCPC in Spokane Washington and retired in July of 2009.
Dennis enjoyed many interests and hobbies: hunting, camping, fishing, American Legion baseball, traveling and his bowling league were all favorites. He was a huge sports fan: Seahawks, Mariners, Whitworth Volleyball, Gonzaga, Lewis and Clark Tigers and the Manson Trojans were all his teams. Dennis loved to watch his sons and grandchildren play and coach sports and traveled extensively throughout Washington to cheer them on.
A memorial service will be held this spring in Spokane, Washington and interment will take place at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, in Medical Lake, Washington.
