Darlene Kathryn Absalonson, a lifelong resident of Spokane, WA, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on June 21, 1951, to Lloyd and Mary Absalonson. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, whose kind and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Darlene was a proud graduate of Shadle Park High School l1971) She is fondly remembered for her warm heart, quick wit, and love for her family. Darlene's love and care extended abundantly to her nieces and nephews, who were the light of her life. Her generosity knew no bounds, always eager to give, even when she had little to offer. She found joy in bringing happiness to others, embodying the true spirit of selflessness.
Darlene is survived by her sister, Linda Kendall, and her brother, Steve (Audrey) Absalonson, She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews: Robb (Heather) Arnold of Chewelah, WA, Jared (Andrea) Arnold of Chewelah, WA, Trevor (Joe) Arnold of Molalla, OR, Michelle Curtis of Lake Tapps, WA, and Nick (Angie) Absalonson of Snohomish, WA. She also leaves great nieces and nephews – Hayden, Grace, Avery, Nora, Kayla, Kyle, Ryan, Leah, Brooks and Sydney.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mary Absalonson, along with nephew Michael Absalonson and brother-in-law William Kendall. Darlene now joins them in eternal peace. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Over the years, Darlene found comfort and care within several group homes where she resided. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mallon Place and Purity Adult Family Home for their love and care for Darlene.
A service will be held September 21, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Fairmont Cemetery. in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Darlene's name to a charity of your choice, continuing her lifelong commitment to giving.
Rest in peace, dear Darlene. Your memory will forever be a blessing.
