January 25, 1944 - December 29, 2017
Cheryl Lynn Arthur (Wohlheter) was born January 25, 1944 in Wilmot, Ohio. Cheryl was an amazing woman and words will never be able to truly capture her essence. A lifetime of loving, giving and caring to be summarized in a few lines seems hollow. To all who knew and loved her, her death will leave a gaping hole. She touched so many lives. Cheryls most treasured things included her family, her friends, her dog Fred, her chickens and her brothers and sisters at the Kingdom Hall. Cheryl moved to Spokane in 1985. She loved Spokane. In the late 1980s, Cheryl found her lifes calling as a member of S.L. Start and Associates. She began working with the developmentally delayed population who were institutionalized. She was an ardent advocate and worked tirelessly to transition her clients from institutional life to a mainstream life. Her hard work during those early years shaped how the developmentally delayed are cared for currently. Later in life, Cheryl started a professional guardianship business to care for those unable to advocate for themselves. Eagle Guardianship and Professional Services was her pride and joy. As was Cheryls modus operandi, her clients were typically developmentally delayed or without adequate resources to pay for guardianship services. Cheryl passed away at home on December 29, 2017. She was surrounded by friends and family and much love. Cheryl is survived by her 5 children. Just as she was devoted to her children, her children were devoted to her. Kimberly Barrett-McKay (Denise), Gary Arthur, Jr. (Patty), David Arthur (Sharon), Daniel Arthur, and Matthew Arthur (Carolyn). She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Cheryl is also survived by 2 brothers, Kenneth Wohlheter (Tricia) and Dewayne Wohlheter (Connie) and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Betty. Words can never express the loss we feel. Words can never express the love we feel. Words can never express the pride we feel. We are who we are because of her. We love you mom.
