Charles Duane Neprud

May 30, 1933 - July 21, 2021

NEPRUD, Charles (Chuck) Duane Charles was born on May 30, 1933 in Biddle, Montana to Julius & Theodora Neprud. He fell asleep in death on July 21, 2021. Chuck was predeceased by his wife, Joane, on September 5, 2020 and his brother-in-law, Gerald Fitch, on August 30, 2017. He is survived by his three siblings; Bertha Fitch, Gerald (Joanne) Neprud and Carlene (Loren) Curtis and five step-children Johnnie, Jimmie, Karen, Bob and Janine; as well as 17 grandchildren, 16+ great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who all adored him! Chuck married Joane Phelps Schuyler on August 27, 1966 and they spent the next 54 years loving each other and raising her five children! Chuck retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service which took him as far away as Puerto Rico and Okinawa, Japan! When he returned home from the service, he was very dedicated to helping his elderly parents on their Chattaroy farm and spent the next 20 years working at Calkin’s Manufacturing Company in Spokane. After retirement, he and the “love of his life,” Joane, then became “snowbirds” wintering in Apache Junction, AZ for over 20 years! Chuck enjoyed traveling, fishing, hiking, square dancing, as well as playing cribbage and cards with his family and friends. He loved annual family reunions in Wisconsin, North Dakota and especially Montana where he visited with relatives and participated in cattle ranching! He was proud to have initiated and attended 35 consecutive Neprud Family Campout’s! He loved his family dearly and treasured the time he spent with them. Any occasion that would bring the family together made him happy! Chuck had an infectious smile and laugh and a zest for life that was truly contagious! That dear “Ole Cowboy” will be sorely missed by all! The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Chuck’s home in Colbert.
