
Carl Lloyd Griffith May 15, 1935- Febrary 28, 2024 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and devoted friend passed away on February 28, 2024. Carl was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Lloyd Griffith and Kathryn Hardy, and was raised by his grandparents, Harrison and Ollie Griffith. He graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1953, and joined the Air Force soon after. Carl retired as Master Sergeant from the USAF in 1974 with 21 years of distinguished active military services. During overseas assignments, he performed Air Rescue operations. In Vietnam, he fulfilled 19 parachute bailout missions and walked out each time. His Stateside Duty was less hazardous with assignments in the Education and Training career field. He worked for John Deere, Smith Frozen Foods, and then retired from Amerigas Propane company. He married his first wife, Edna (Lee) Morrow in 1956 in Virginia City, NV. They had four children together: Robin (Pat) Moretti, Kevin (Sarah), Shawn (James) Roberts, and Nathan (Kris). His wife, Lee, died from Lou Gehrig's disease in 1996. He then married Elke Merrell, and they have lived in Spokane Valley, WA for the past 21 years. Carl is survived by his wife, Elke Griffith, their combined families of 10 children, 27 grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by his first wife Lee, son Nathan Griffith and grandson Jarell Jordan Rivers. Carl will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to Pacific Northwest Cremation for their support and exceptional care. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in the LDS Foothills Chapel at 5322 N Evergreen, Spokane Valley, WA. The interment will be at Camp Williams State Military Reservation, 17800 S Redwood Rd, Bluffdale, UT, 84045.
