Bruce Wyman Koch

October 15, 1937 - October 01, 2017

Bruce Wyman Koch (Age 79) met our Heavenly Father on October 1st, just two weeks before his 80th birthday, October 15, 1937. He was surrounded by his beloved family, scripture, prayers and hymns. His children are proud of the heritage created by Bruces legacy. He was a strong believer in our Savior, Jesus Christ and a leader to many in his unrelenting faith. He was a man of integrity, honor, service, strength and kindness. Bruce had a passion for his grandchildren, devoting his life to be an example of Gods love to them. He loved to golf on a regular basis, enjoyed restoring vintage cars, and would regularly watch Gonzaga Basketball, WSU Football, Seattle Seahawks and NASCAR. He had a love for lighthouses. Bruce was a lighthouse for his family; a man who offered guidance, a sense of strength, safety and stillness. He was a brave, bold and bright man; a beacon of light to everyone around him. Bruce has been a member of Pasadena Park Nazarene Church since 1973, serving as a Sunday school teacher, board member, and a valued man of faith in the church. He was an experienced journeyman in the sheet metal trade for over 50 years. He spent 25 years as an employee of Krueger Sheet Metal. He devoted 13 years providing his expertise as an instructor and Associate Dean at Spokane Community College and went on to open Koch Sheet Metal, with his son Douglas Koch which remained open for 20 years. Bruce was a master in his own right in the craft of his beautiful sheet metal work that can be found all over Spokane and the Northwest. He was a loving husband to his wife of 55 years, Dona Lee Koch. He is survived by his wife Dona; daughter; Patricia Melcher and sons; Douglas Koch (wife Lori) and Monte Koch (wife Dawn), siblings; Glen Koch (wife Edith) and Jerry Koch (wife Joan), seven grandchildren; Rusty Melcher, Danielle Rohe (husband Mike), Ashley Loos (husband Steve), Kelsey Koch, Nicholas Koch, Nathan Koch and Natalie Koch, five great-grandchildren; Dylan Rohe, Peyton Rohe, Logan Rohe, Ashton Melcher and Ava Melcher, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Hilma Koch; 3 brothers, 4 sisters and one great grandson. Services will be held on Saturday, October 7th at Pasadena Park Nazarene Church at 11:00 am, 8822 E. Upriver Drive in the Spokane Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in Bruces name for a Memorial Fund through Pasadena Park Nazarene Church.
