May 21, 2001 - November 29, 2018
Brodan Matthew Betts, 17, passed away November 29, 2018. He was born in Spokane, WA on May 21, 2001, son of Matthew Betts and Cassandra Atwood. Brody attended Central Valley High School and Spokane Falls Community College as a running start student. He had a passion for music and art. It was a rare sight to see him without his headphones either in his ears or hanging out the top of his shirt. His mind worked in so many amazing ways. He was on track to not only graduate from high school this summer, but also obtain his Associates Degree. He thrived at the college, made the Deans list last semester, and looked forward to attending Western Washington University. His personality was one of a kind. He was kind and confident in so many ways and always stood up for what he believed in. He didn’t care about what anyone else thought of him. His unique style matched his strong personality, his bowling shoes and tie-dye, his patches and his beanies; he was exploring who he was. His sense of humor could always make you laugh and his facial expressions were unforgettable, from him raising his eyebrows with excitement, to his funny side smile he always gave. Brody, we are proud of the man you became and your memory will live within all of us forever. Brody will be remembered with love by his parents Matthew Betts (Marie) and Cassandra Atwood (Josh), maternal grandparents Bryan and Lynnette Heidenreich and paternal grandparents Stephen and Janet Betts. He was a big brother to four sisters, Brooklyn Atwood, Adahlia, Gwyneth, and Alice Betts. He was loved by his aunts Sarah Betts (Eric), Lisa Gonzalez (Daniel), Jessica Graziano (Geno), Brittany Heidenreich (Desirea), great-grandparents Charles Heidenreich, Dave Irvine (Billie), Lyle Rocker, extended siblings (Hunter, Hanna, Kierra, Anthony, Devin, and Andon), numerous cousins, family members, and so many friends. His celebration of life will be held at Valley Real Life, 1831 S. Barker Rd. Greenacres, WA 99016 on December 8th at 4:30 PM. We would love Brody’s style and personality to be reflected at his celebration, so please wear tie-dye. Donations may be made to the Brodan Betts Memorial Fund at Washington Trust Bank.
