Obituary for Beryl Jean Fallquist

Our precious mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Beryl Jean Fallquist, age 99, of Spokane, Washington, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024. She was born on July 27, 1924, in Bassano, Alberta Canada to Roy and Elsie Hulen.

Beryl lived a life filled with love for family and friends. Her family moved from their farm in Canada in 1936 to Spokane, Washington. She attended Rogers High School and graduated in 1943. In 1949, she married the love of her life, John Robert Fallquist. They enjoyed raising their children, spending time at the lake, dinner parties, and gardening, until his passing in 1990.

Beryl became a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in 1962. She loved to read, cheer on her favorite sports teams, and spend time with her family. Beryl will be remembered for her love of Jesus and family, her grace, generosity, warm embrace, and kindness.

Beryl is survived by her children Tom Fallquist, Dave (Mary) Fallquist, and Karen (Mark) Copeland, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Fallquist, and beloved sister, Shirley Mitchell.

A private family service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (316 E. 24th Ave. Spokane, WA 99203) or Hospice House of Spokane (PO Box 2215 Spokane WA, 99210).

Our loving mother will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. We will forever carry her memory in our hearts.

To the Fallquist family. I just heard about Berl's passing. My deepest condolences go to you all. Berl was the most kindness woman I have known. Berl put up with so many shenanigans from all of us kids in our teenage years. She always made you feel welcomed in their home. Berl will be missed. God bless. Thoughts and prayers to you.🙏
