Barbara Louise Buehler (nee Wilson) passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025 at the age of 72. She was born on March 4, 1953 to Murray and Dorothy Wilson in Spokane, WA and attended Willard, Salk and North Central schools. While at North Central, she was active in Red Feathers and the school newspaper. Barb spent the summers with her gramma Wilson at their family cabin (the Dingle Dell), in Delcardo Bay on Lake Coeur d’Alene. There she met and grew up with many lifelong friends. In the late 70’s, Barb took an older friends’ advice and put in an application for a caretaker position with WSDOT in Spokane. She was hired and an instant success. A few years later, the DOT was looking to fill highway maintenance positions in Spokane. She applied and was offered a position at the Geiger shed. Barb became the first female to work on a WSDOT highway maintenance crew in Eastern Washington. In 2010, after 30 plus years of service, she retired as a Lead Tech at the Sprague Maintenance shed. In the early 80’s, she met a guy on another crew named Gary Clemensen and they became friends, really good friends. In 2019, after Gary had completed his 35 year probationary period, they were married. In the meantime, they spent their summers in Delcardo, with Barbs old friends, and family get togethers. Barb, Gary and her brother George also had a cabin at Newman Lake which kept them busy. Barb decorated for every holiday, so Gary built her a room to store all her “stuff”. She loved to go to craft, and garden shows with her good friends Marilyn, Sally and Bonnie, on walks with Sue and volunteer with Esta at the COP Shop. Barb liked working in the yard so much, she would often end up at the neighbors. Most of all, Barb liked people and if they needed help, she would be there for them. She was beautiful, in more ways than one. Barb is survived by her husband Gary, brother George, niece Kym (Scott), great niece Tessa and nephew Scott, Gary’s children Renee (Keith), Michelle (Jason), Nicole (Steve), grandchildren Jared, Justin, Jasmin, Alyssa and great grandchildren, Adalyne and Boston. We would like to thank Sue Barclay for being such a friend and caregiver to Barb and Riverview Memory Care for the kind and loving care she received. Also, thanks to Barbs cousins Wendy (Chris), Vicki and Julie for taking such good care of the Dingle Dell and inviting us to Delcardo every year. At her request, no service will be held.
