Anna Marie Bowen

January 07, 1937 - October 10, 2021

Anna (Age 84) of Los Angeles, CA, fell asleep with her family and woke to the Lord on October 10, 2021. She was born January 7, 1937, in Los Angeles California, the daughter of Dorothy Van Hoak. Anna graduated from St. Columbkille High School in Los Angeles, class of 1955. She was a devout Roman Catholic who taught Sunday School classes and visited shut-ins with her sister Mary. She selflessly served and fiercely loved her family. A doting and humorous grandma, she was known by her grandkids as Nana and “Nana Banana." With 7 kids, 25 grandkids, and over 75 great-grandkids, much of her time was spent praying and spending time with loved ones. Anna was preceded in death by Dorothy Van Hoak (mother), Mary Derschan (sister), Linda Van Hoak (sister), and Jon Doobovsky (son). She is survived by her sisters Janice Bolton and Lydia Lam and brother Rollo Van Hoak, Lynne Tedrow (daughter), Robert Doobovsky (son) and wife Cynthia, Julie Parrish (daughter) and husband Johnny, Annette Burbank (daughter), Tiger Patricia Armstrong (daughter), Michael Bowen (son), Dawndra Robertson (stepdaughter), 25 grandchildren, and over 75 great-grandchildren. A Rosary and Celebration of Life will be held in Spokane, WA on November 13, 2021. A funeral service will be held later next year.
