December 13, 1985 - November 27, 2021
Aaron Joseph “Atown” Houghton was born on Dec. 13, 1985 in Whitefish, MT, and lived his life passionately until his tragic death on November 27, 2021 at the age of 35. Growing up around Montana and in Spokane, WA, he graduated from Lewis and Clark HS. He loved animals, with a special fondness for boxers and pitbulls. A music lover, he taught himself to play the banjo and ukulele. He was an avid skateboarder and as a teenager was sponsored for a short time by Spirit. A longtime football fan (go Seahawks!), he loved going to home games when he lived in Seattle. He had a great rapport with small children and aspired to have a family one day. He excelled at working with his hands, whether it was building things in his construction job, sparring in the boxing ring, or helping out with the weekend gardening. Our community will miss Aaron’s quick and genuine smile and his willingness to help others. He would give you the shirt off his back (or his coat, gloves, or even shoes, as we learned when he was in grade school!). He always remembered his friends’ middle names and birthdays and was fiercely loyal to and protective of his friends and family. Aaron is survived by (father Jim Houghton, mother Nancy Houghton, brothers Brian and Cody, and nephew Maxwell.) and an extensive community of friends Waiting for him on the other side are his (grandparents Harold Houghton,James Green and Cathy Green as well as good friends, Josh, Ricky and Justin “Bone”). Join us in remembrance of Aaron on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:00pm at Sunset Chapel, 5200 W Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205.
